Anna Brietzke is a research scientist at ISOE since 2021. She studied Latin American and Ancient American Studies and English Studies (B.A.) in Bonn and Cultural and Social Anthropology (M.A.) in Marburg. Within her focus areas Environmental Anthropology and Anthropology of Conflict, she is particularly interested in both human-environment relations as well as environmental and resource conflicts. In her master’s thesis, Anna Brietzke investigated the role of land (rights) for an indigenous community in Ecuador and to what extent their struggle for land can be characterized as a decolonial practice.
