Katja Brinkmann has been a research scientist at ISOE since 2019. Since April 2023, she has been head of the Social-Ecological Systems hub together with Stefan Liehr. She habilitated at the University of Kassel where she was dealing with land-use changes and their effects on ecosystem services and related functions in the tropics and subtropics. Previously, she had studied Forest and Environmental Sciences at the University of Freiburg and had received her PhD for her doctoral thesis on the “Effects of management changes on traditionally used Grassland in the Apuseni Mountains of Romania”.
