Matthias Bergmann has been working at ISOE since 2000. From 1998 to 2011 he has been lecturing at the Institute for Advanced Study, Berlin, where he was responsible for quality management, evaluation and the management of interdisciplinary research projects. At ISOE he focuses on the study of quality criteria, the evaluation of transdisciplinary research, methods for integration issues in transdisciplinary research and on transdisciplinarity in higher education. From August 2011 to September 2016, he was also a guest scientist at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, where he was engaged in transdisciplinary university teaching. His work as a guest scientist at the Chair for Transdisciplinary Sustainability Research for three years was honored by an appointment as guest professor in August 2014. Leuphana university appointed him honorary professor in May 2018. Matthias Bergmann has a doctorate in Environmental Engineering, specialising in Acoustics.
