Support for the Projects for Sustainable Economies

ISOE provided support for the “Regional Approaches to Sustainable Economic Development” initiative funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research.

Research approach

The intention was for the concomitant research by ISOE to bring about an overall improvement in the efficacy of the individual model projects and funding initiative. The interdisciplinary team supported the model projects via strategic pointers and five cross-linked workshops. These served to improve and universalise the approaches used. In order to improve understanding of regionally sustainable economic development, the team set up an internet presence and prepared joint publications.
Finally, ISOE analysed the conceptual framework on which the funding initiative was based. Taking examples from the various projects, scientists examined the significance of practice-oriented research in terms of future research funding as well as overseeing further expert reports as part of the reviewing process.
