NahviS - Public Transport in the Black Forest

In the NAHVIS project, target-group-specific public transport offerings were developed for the rural southern region of the Black Forest.

Research approach

The NahviS project developed public transport offerings tailored to the needs of various target groups. The aim was to contribute towards a significant improvement in the mobility options available in thinly populated regional areas. The Southern Black Forest Nature Reserve served as the test region, the target groups being the residents dependent on public transport along with (short-term) holidaymakers in the region. The new concept included the development of a flexible bus service, new car-sharing schemes, the linking up of information and data on all mobility providers, and a personal mobility advisory service at railway stations.
It was up to ISOE to develop a target group model that embraced mobility and lifestyle orientations, travel behaviour and people's social situation. On the basis of this, the team devised target-group-oriented measures and offerings along with appropriate communication strategies.
