Evaluation of the Cariteam Energy Saving Service
ISOE evaluated the Cariteam-Energiesparservice of Caritas Frankfurt e.V. For this purpose, the team conducted empirical surveys of those households that received advice with a view to investigating satisfaction and acceptance.
With the "Cariteam-Energiesparservice" (Energy Saving Service), Caritas Frankfurt e.V. offers the long-term unemployed the opportunity to qualify as energy advisors on energy- and water-saving appliances. At the same time, households on low incomes (ALG Unemployment Benefit II, income support) in Frankfurt am Main receive free advice on how to reduce their energy costs.
ISOE did a standardised survey on the households that were given advice. They asked, amongst other things, about people's satisfaction with and acceptance of the advice on offer. The results served as a basis for improving the advice in terms of form and content.
Parallel to this, ifeu ascertained the actual energy and cost savings in a quantitative impact analysis. In addition, scientists investigated the impact on climate protection of measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The Cariteam-Energiesparservice is an integrative concept that links goals pertaining to the labour market and to social and climate policy. Partners in the Cariteam energy saving service are Caritas-Verband Frankfurt e.V., the Rhein-Main Job Centre (Arge), the Frankfurt Social Security Department and Mainova.
