NaHa – Sustainable Practices in the Workplace and in Everyday Life

The team of NaHa ("Nachhaltig Handeln" - Sustainable Practices) looked at how experiences and routines in working life can help promote sustainable behaviour in the private sphere.

Research approach

The NaHa project focuses on corporate scope for formative action. The aim was to support companies in promoting a precautionary and sustainable way of living amongst staff. Scientists investigated the areas of health promotion, nutrition and mobility to see whether sustainable behaviour in everyday working life also spilt over into private everyday routines. They looked at how existing business activities and measures could be linked and developed further with this in mind. Workplace health promotion and environmental management so far play little or no part in business practice.

Guideline

From the results, a guideline was compiled for companies. Within the group project, some of the areas in which ISOE was involved were the drawing up of criteria with which to select companies, empirical design, and development of the guideline.
