tdPrax – Strengthening the Practice of Transdisciplinarity
In tdPrax, two books on the basic understanding, methods and concepts of transdisciplinary research were compiled and published.
Research approach
These guides for transdisciplinary research were intended to help research teams draft, implement and guarantee the quality of integrative transdisciplinary research approaches in the future. To this end, scientists viewed and unlocked existing experience on methods and procedures. They also broadened and collated this set of knowledge.
The results were published as books:
Bergmann, Matthias/Engelbert Schramm (Hg.) (2008): Transdisziplinäre Forschung. Integrative Forschungsprozesse verstehen und bewerten, Campus Verlag.
Matthias Bergmann, Thomas Jahn, Tobias Knobloch, Wolfgang Krohn, Christian Pohl, Engelbert Schramm (2010): Methoden transdisziplinärer Forschung. Ein Überblick mit Anwendungsbeispielen, Campus Verlag.
Background
Transdisciplinary research teams often lack knowledge about proven methods, procedures and best practices for transdisciplinary research and quality control. This is mainly due to the lack of an established transdisciplinary tradition. There is also a lack of suitable sources that present proven methods and procedures in a form that can be transferred to different fields of application.
