Meta-Analysis of Gender and Research in Europe
A meta-analysis was used to collect existing pieces of research on scientific gender studies in Europe and establish research needs.
Research approach
The project as a whole examined gender studies of the last 20 years, looking especially at the different opportunities available and decisions taken when it came to choosing a scientific occupation or career. To this end, the existing gender studies carried out in Europe were collected in a meta-analysis and evaluated with regard to areas requiring further clarification. Having identified such areas, the project team put them forward as the focus of future EU research policy on gender and science. At the same time, the publications collected during the course of the project were made available within a database.
