Gender Impact Assessement for the BMU

The team developed support materials for the introduction of a gender impact assessment (GIA) into the day-to-day workings of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Reactor Safety (BMU).

Research approach

In cooperation with experts from the BMU, ISOE prepared support materials for anchoring a gender impact assessment (GIA) within the institutional framework. The basis for this was an appropriate analysis of the organisational procedures involved in the planning of legislation.

By way of example, the GIA was applied to projected legislation for a revised version of the Environmental Information Act and the amended Environmental Statistics Act.
