INTAFERE – Integrated Analysis of Organic Impurities in Rivers

In the INTAFERE project, the partners involved laid the foundations for sustainable water quality management.

In the INTAFERE project, the partners involved laid the foundations for sustainable water quality management.

Research approach

Evaluating the risks posed by a single substance is difficult enough. But the greater challenge by far is presented by the multitude of substances present in the environment which impact simultaneously on organisms. The various partners working on the transdisciplinary project INTAFERE carried out research with stakeholders to examine possible forms of sustainable water quality management. Based on mutual, transdisciplinary dialogue, they developed sustainable proposals for improving existing risk assessment procedures.

Background

INTAFERE was born out of the interdisciplinary research network MOMUS 'Modelling Nature-Society Systems' set up jointly by the J.W. Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and ISOE.
