Sophie Peter joined ISOE in 2021 as a researcher in the Biodiversity and Society research unit. She contributes her social science expertise to several projects on human-nature relationships with a focus on biodiversity. As part of the MORE STEP project, she is investigating social developments and their impact on the mobility of nomadic herders and their herds in Mongolia. Previously, she completed her PhD at the Department of Social Sciences at the Goethe University Frankfurt in cooperation with the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Institute (SBiK-F) and ISOE in the DFG-funded project "Biodiversity Exploratories". The project focused on the "socio-cultural dynamics of ecosystem services". Previously, she worked at the ISÖ - Institute for Social Ecology gGmbH in the field of social sustainability. Sophie Peter holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Sociology and a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM).
