Marion Mehring has been a research scientist at ISOE since 2011. She is head of the research unit Biodiversity and People. She studied geoecology at the University of Bayreuth with the major subjects soil science and eco-toxicology. She wrote her doctoral thesis at the University of Greifswald. In her thesis she focused on buffer zone effectiveness in forest biosphere reserve management.
